Dans le but de dégager les principales particularités biologiques de l¿éspèce, nous avons fait des comptage périodiques des effectifs des populations de la cochenille violette de l¿olivier Les résultats de cette étude montrent que la cochenille Parlatoria oleae présene deux générations annuelles: une generation printanière et l autre automnale pour leur developpement. L¿espèce présente deux période de ponte sachant que le declenchement de cette dernière est tardif. La mortalité naturelle de cette diaspine est de deux orders,; elle est d¿ordre climatique pour les jeunes stades et d¿ordre physiologique pour les femelles adules. Les orientations est et oust présentent des milieu néfastes où les conditions climatiques sont défavorables. Le parasitisme n¿a pas été resenti chez cette espèce.

In order to identify the main biological peculiarities of the species, we carried out periodic counts of the populations of the violet olive mealybug.The results of this study show that the Parlatoria oleae mealybug has two annual generations: one generation spring and autumn for their development. The species has two spawning periods knowing that the onset of the latter is late. The natural mortality of this diaspine is two orders; it is climatic for the young stages and physiological for adult females. The east and west orientations present harmful environments where the climatic conditions are unfavorable. Parasitism was not felt in this species 60 pp. Englisch.
