Aggiungi al carrelloThree primary poem booklets all have rear limitation page with each hand-numbered in ink as #12 of an edition of 100 copies. 4 separate booklets in an exterior blue paper portfolio, H 18.4cm x L 16.8cm, which has light toning and soiling plus slight surface tear-scuff at head of one fold. Portfolio inner panel SIGNED BY THE AUTH…OR AND ILLUSTRATOR. Each booklet has hand-sewn string binding and features an individual b/w woodcut illustration by Nancy Brokopp. First orange-brown paper booklet, H 12.3cm x L 12.8cm, features handwritten ink invitee name (Jay Roshal) on primary exterior panel with one-sided single sheet invitation laid-in between inner flaps. The three separate poem booklets - "CLOUD," "GLACIER," and "WOOD" - are H 18.4cm x L 15.5cm. CLOUD - six leaves plus light blue paper covers; GLACIER - six leaves plus olive green paper covers; WOOD - six leaves plus orange brown paper covers. A professor of biology from 1960 to 1983 at the University of Minnesota-Morris, Jay Yehudie Roshal (1922-2004) served as the school's first chairman of the Division of Science and Mathematics. OCLC only locates two institutional holdings - the Minnesota Historical Society Library (Copy #19) and University of Minnesota, Morris (Copy #35); as a prominent faculty member Professor Roshal evidently received a relatively early copy in the print run. Per OCLC holdings, 1971 seems to have been the inaugural year for Prairie Gate Press with five titles issued.
