"(Goethe) Nimmer sich beugen, Kräftig sich zeigen, Rufet die Arme der Götter herbei". - Zunächst Schauspieler, wurde Pagin bei Patzelt-Norini in Wien zum Tenor ausgebildet. 1885 debütierte er am Carltheater, war dann Operettensänger am Stadttheater in Heidelberg, in Nürnberg und trat 1886-91 am Friedrich-Wilhelmstäd…tischen Theater in Berlin auf. Anschließend am Residenztheater in Dresden tätig, wurde er 1892 an das Theater an der Wien engagiert, wo er zahlreiche Operettenrollen übernahm.
