Written by British author, journalist and psychological researcher, Ernest Clephan Palmer. This novel tells the story of a young blackbird found by the author and his wife, lying on their lawn. This delightful tale is told with simplicity and sincerity, with charming illustrations throughout by Mervyn Peake.Previous owners ink inscription to the front endpaper, of Isobel P. Welski, and a later inscription of Shane McGowan. In the publisher's original cloth binding with gilt motif to the front cover, with the original, unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, excellent, with a touch of fading to the extremities and the odd handling mark. Previous owner's ink inscription to the front endpaper.
