The original Italian text was not published until 1612, in Venice. The first English translation, The History of many memorable things appeared in London, as late as 1715. O Guido Pancirolli's (1523-99) Raccolta breve d'alcune cose piu segnalate c'hebbero gli antichi was first published in the form of a copiously annotated Latin translation of the original Italian manuscript (Hamburg 1599-1602) by Pancirolli's fellow lawyer Heinrich Salmuth of Hamburg. A second edition of Salmuth's version appeared, also in Hamburg, in 1607-8, with a third following in 1612. A French translation was published in Lyon in 1608.
