Loose Leaf. Condizione: Very Good. Pasadena Chamber of Commerce [Published Date: No date listed, circa early 1930's]. Original vintage travel brochure promoting Pasadena, California, as a cultural and scenic destination. Single sheet measuring 6.75 x 6.25 inches when unfolded, printed in black and orange and folded once horizontally and once vertically to form four panels. In very good condition with light aging. Includes halftone photographs of Pasadena City Hall (with Mt. Wilson in the background), the Pasadena Public Library, and the Colorado Street Bridge ("Imposing Western Entrance to Pasadena"). A stylized pictorial map highlights Pasadena's location in relation to nearby coastal cities, including Los Angeles, Venice, Santa Monica, Long Beach, and Newport Bay. Promotional text emphasizes Pasadena's population of 80,000, its proximity to Los Angeles, and its reputation for beauty, comfort, and convenience. Map is signed in print by Frank E. Brown (1880 - 1946), a prominent Southern California illustrator and panoramic artist known for detailed bird's-eye views and promotional scenes of Pasadena and Catalina Island. Brown was a staff artist for the Pasadena Star News and widely recognized for his depictions of Pasadena landmarks and development during the 1920s-1930s.
