The survey can be done either by manually or by using remote sensing and GIS for the selected sub watershed (5G1C5e). The sub watershed of 16940 ha comprising of 23 micro watersheds falling in Junagadh district of Gujarat state (India) was identified and considered for the study purpose. The thematic maps were prepared using the Remote Sensing images, soil maps and reports prepared by NBSS & LUP. All these maps were digitized in the ARCVIEW module of ARC/INFO GIS software. The Soil Conservation Service Curve Number (CN) method is used for computing the runoff. In the present study, soil loss is predicted employing USLE method and an integrated analysis in GIS is carried out for Soil Conservation and for delineation suitable conservation unit.
