The ALL FRENCH-LANGUAGE contents, consisting of front matters, a preface (pp. xiii-xxxiii), text (pp. 1-152) and notes by Mathilde de Kerveguelen (pp. 155-1…64) appear clean and securely bound. Also bound-in is a black ribbon bookmark that is browned and slightly frayed at the end. Gilt top edge. Deep purple cloth boards with elaborate gilt floral decoration on the spine and upper board. The spine is slightly faded at the head and tail. The plastic dust jacket is somewhat rubbed from shelf wear and has a couple of top edge chips in the rear and a bottom edge chip near the rear spine edge. NOT an ex-library copy.
