Of note is that this is set 162 of the limited (to 300 sets) edition printed on larger Japon paper. Also of note is that this edition has lots 1-02-305 in Volume 2, which are then followed by 17 lots of additional paintings by Pater (4), Hobbema (2), Ostade, Van de Velde, Wouvermans (2), Perugino, Decamps, Delacroix (2), Millet, Troyon. About half ofg these paintings are illustrated. Uncommon in this edition. Edition limited to 300./ "Cette édition de luxe, illustrée de 120 photogravures Goupil et Cie, a été tirée à 300 exemplaires sur papier du Japon, dont 50 pour présentation et 250 numérotes de 1 a 250."/ Place of sale: Paris. Date of sale: July 1-4, 1889. Covers are soiled, contents of both volumes VG with isolated finger smudging. BIndings are reasonably tight, no loose pages.
