Confronted by the wickedness of those around them, they are tasked with building an enormous boat that will protect their family and pairs of every animal from the rising waters. Once the waters recede, a new world is revealed, and the animals and family are able to repopulate the Earth. The heartwarming and fantastical tale complements the courage of the human spirit with the majesty of nature, showing the importance of hope and perseverance in the face of hardship. Despite the despair that engulfs the characters, the author speaks to the peace and safety found in divine protection. This enchanting story highlights the human experience of being rescued by a higher power while never forgetting the terrors and dangers of the world around them. Hardcover. Condizione: Near Fine. 1st Edition. Light scuff to lower corner of rear cover else fine. This book is a special exhibition of Paul Guigou by the Columbus Museum of Art. Paul Guigou, though he worked outside the tumultuous mainstream of late nineteenth-century painting in France, was nonetheless an exciting painter in his own right. His pictures spark the imagination, and his conscious rendering of the crystalline light of Provence gives pleasure to the eye. With a forcefulness equaled only by Courbet before him, he establishes gracefully receding spaces that pull the spectator into the world of the picture.
