Softcover. Condizione: Very Good. Condizione sovraccoperta: no dj, as issued. 1st edition. Paris, François Bernouard, 1928, first edition, softcover, folio,14.75 x 11.25 inches (unpaginated, 6 pages, 12 plates by Paul Iribe. All 12 plates are fold-out plates, 14.5 x 21 inches, (54x37cm), mounted on tabs. Limited edition of 2,775… numbered copies, this copy unnumbered on laminated pelure paper from a print run of 2,000 copies. On the title page is the author's stamp "Hommage de Paul IRIBE." Softcover in a clear plastic cover. Front board separated, but the plastic cover holds cover and book block well together. Light shelfwear to the cover and plates edges. In all still very good. In Greek mythology, Circe is the sorceress who transformed Odysseus's companions into pigs. The final plate, "The Invaded Regions," depicts the port of Saint-Tropez teeming with people, where the international flags of the finest yachts at dock fly, and where a full-length portrait of "Paul Poiret" stands atop the central stele. "Upon his return from the United States, IRIBE, together with Bernouard, published a large album of drawings in which he criticized the influence of Cubism on French art: "The Death of Circe or The Revenge of the Pig." (The release of two publications that would never see the light of day is being mentioned on one of the endpapers: "The Dancer and Her Shadow," and "French Furniture and Art Objects"). Paul Iribe (illustratore).

Paris, no publisher, 1907, (12) pag., coloured illustrations by Jean Cocteau ("Jim"), a double page centerfold by Raoul Dufy, Paul Iribe, original stapled wrappers with coloured illustration by Paul Iribe on fraont and one by JIM (= Jean Cocteau) on backwrapper, untrimmed, folio (43,7 x 28,3 cm.). = Rare single issue of this sat…irical-political wartime French review, founded by Jean Cocteau and Paul Iribe early in their careers. Both men were important exponents of avant-garde art: as a teenager Iribe drew illustrations for the popular caricature journal l'Assiette au Beurre and founded his own periodical Le témoin; and Cocteau had already become known in Bohemian circles as "The Frivolous Prince". Iribe designed most of the covers, and Cocteau contributed both images and text, signing his drawings with the pseudonym "Jim" (which was the name of his dog).
