Cover story on the myhth of SF as a Gay Mecca. Also Tennessee interviewed. Amory on coming out in 1949. S.I.R. was an extremely important homophile organization in the 1960s-70s and "Vector" was the main gay magazine for the Bay Area during those years. The magazine began life as a newsletter in 1964, merely several folded and or stapled sheets with news and calendars. The late Sixties found the magazine concentrating more on local and national news of interest to gay men.The final years saw the magazine turn more to a standard gay men's magazine with photos of young men from around the Bay Area.

Palmer's now-legendary paranormal-reporting non-fiction enterprise, which began with, in its first issue, Kenneth Arnold's cover account of flying crescents which "skipped like saucers across a pond", an event which, for whatever reason, kicked off the modern era of UFO events. After that, Fate introduced countless events which remain, to this day, fodder for paranormal documentaries and investigation. 12mo, illustrated perfect-bound wraps, 130 pp. A Near Fine copy - very near fine - with almost nothing to point to; micro-touching at spine and a touch of fade at left side of front cover (scan). As always in 50s pulps, some modest age-toning to the newsprint paper pages, which remain fully supple. See scans.
