The author, Paul Marchegay (1812-1885), was one of a number of foreign scholars who corresponded with Phillipps. Printed on quality paper and entirely unopened. Bound with a work entitled 'Choix de Pieces Inedites tirees des archives du Chateau de Serbant'. p77-91. No author mentioned. A penciled notation on the front blank indicates that the second work was authored by Paul Marchegay as well. The second work is shorter in size. Probably bound for Sir Thomas Philipps in original paper covered boards. Paper spine torn with pieces missing and corners bumped. Original wrappers preserved. See Munby Phillipps Studies iv p91.
