The presentation of a collection such as this is even nowadays justified not only by Schachermeyr's high degree of connoisseurship and thus selection of highly representative pieces for a given region and period, but also by the fact that the site of origin is recorded for almosst all of the pieces. Collections organised in this way make it possible to study certain phenomena, such as the distribution of wares, fabrics or decorative motives across wider research areas, without the otherwise necessary travels over wide distances. German description: Der Band umfasst einerseits eine Prasentation von mittel- und spatbronzezeitlicher Keramik des griechischen Festlands und der Inseln Agina und Paros aus der Sammlung Schachermeyr der Mykenischen Kommission der Osterreichischen Akademie der Wissenschaften, die andererseits in weiterfuhrenden Themenbereichen der behandelten Perioden ausfuhrlich diskutiert werden. Schachermeyrs tiefgreifende Kenntnisse der Regionen und Zeiten spiegeln sich in der uberaus reprasentativen Zusammenstellung der Funde wider, deren Herkunft dokumentiert wurde und bekannt ist. Diese Fakten rechtfertigen die Publikation als Teiles einer Studiensammlung auch in heutiger Zeit. Solcherart aufgebaute Sammlungen ermoglichen das Studium spezieller Phanomene von keramischen Kulturen, wie beispielsweise die Verbreitung von Waren, Fabrikaten oder Mustermotiven in einem weit gefassten geographischen Raum. The presentation of a collection such as this is even nowadays justified not only by Schachermeyr's high degree of connoisseurship and thus selection of highly representative pieces for a given region and period, but also by the fact that the site of origin is recorded for almosst all of the pieces. Collections organised in this way make it possible to study certain phenomena, such as the distribution of wares, fabrics or decorative motives across wider research areas, without the otherwise necessary travels over wide distances. German description: Der Band umfasst einerseits eine Prasentation von mittel- und spatbronzezeitlicher Keramik des griechischen Festlands und der Inseln Agina und Paros aus der Sammlung Schachermeyr der Mykenischen Kommission der Osterreichischen Akademie der Wissenschaften, die andererseits in weiterfuhrenden Themenbereichen der behandelten Perioden ausfuhrlich diskutiert werden. Schachermeyrs tiefgreifende Kenntnisse der Regionen und Zeiten spiegeln sich in der uberaus reprasentativen Zusammenstellung der Funde wider, deren Herkunft dokumentiert wurde und bekannt ist. Diese Fakten rechtfertigen die Publikation als Teiles einer Studiensammlung auch in heutiger Zeit. Solcherart aufgebaute Sammlungen ermoglichen das Studium spezieller Phanomene von keramischen Kulturen, wie beispielsweise die Verbreitung von Waren, Fabrikaten oder Mustermotiven in einem weit gefassten geographischen Raum. Die Publikation ist in zwei grosse Abschnitte gegliedert: der erste Abschnitt beinhaltet die Mittel- und fruhe Spatbronzezeit in Zentral- und Sudgriechenland, der andere die Spatbronzezeit in Nordgriechenland. Auf die Einleitung folgt die Diskussion von grauen und anderen minyschen Waren in Griechenland, gefolgt von einer Analyse der fruhen Spatbronzezeit und ihrer moglichen mittelhelladischen Kontinuitaten in Zentralgriechenland und der Korithia. Beide Aspekte werden auch im kommentierten Katalogteil zu den entsprechenden Funden der Sammlung berucksichtigt. Die Kapitel zu Nordgriechenland behandeln die unterschiedlichen keramischen Kulturen Makedoniens und Thessaliens in der spaten Bronzezeit, gefolgt von einem Abriss zu den jungsten Entwicklungen in der Diskussion zur Chronologie in diesen Regionen. Der Abschnitt schliesst mit einem ausfuhrlichen Katalog zu den spatbronzezeitlichen Funden der Sammlung.
