It was written by two experienced field biologists and supervised by the North Carolina Natural Heritage Program. The areas described in this book include the Alligator River and Swan Lake, Cypress Park, Roper Island, New Lake Fork Pocosin, Gull Rock Gamelands, Scranton Hardwoods, and Salyer's Ridge.
