The first reprint in the same year as first published. a look back 10 years after the wend of WWI - includes accounts of war work by women, with interesting appendices on comparative housekeeping costs and budgets, rationing, cookery, income tax, and more, by the 'doyenne of writers on domestic economy'. the photo frontis of a young woman in the naval gun factory at Woolwich has a caption: " At the time when women were doing work such as this a newspaper article appeared objecting to women in trousers" gives a flavour! In original boards., The book is tight and clean with a previous owners name on the fep and a small stab mark hidden on the front cover but penetrating 4 pages. Not obtrusive . Some marginal toning and some fading of the spine but still Very good copy of this classic. Wonderful period photos. See scans.
