DJ is parchment colored with black lettering on front and spine; some edge wear and bumping; also some light chipping across top, with 1"x 1 1/2" patch at top of back corner missing, but top and bottom of DJ was lined with brown paper, which fills the hole. Some rubbing on spine; both flaps are triimmed a little. The DJ is very clean overall, everything legible and intact. Pages are gilt edged, with sides and bottom pretty well rubbed; top intact. Illustrated with 25 paintings, one, "The Marriage of the Arnolfini, " the frontispiece, in color, the rest in b/w. Pages are very clean and tight, deckled edges, of a high quality, linen type paper, with the date written in pencil at the bottom of the front end paper; in a Brodart cover. The publisher, The Medici Society, "exists to publish the finest colour facsimile reproductions of great paintings."
