MATERIAL LAID IN: two typed reviews (unsigned) are taped to the front endpaper; a newspaper clipping of the death notice for Bernardo Houssay, Sept. 22, 1971 (Nobel Prize for his work on the pituitary gland); original letter of recommendation from Enrique B. del Castillo to Dr. Means introducing Dr. Hector Perinetti (at the bottom hand-written : "This started it all! Means" (glued to back of front endpaper); taped across from title page: postcard from John showing a woman with goiter and sending it to Dr. Means for his collection.
