Cloth. Condizione: Very Good. No Jacket. 8th Impression. Hardback. Previous owners name and address to inside cover. Old school award sticker to previous owner to inside cover. Brown cloth with black lettering. No date. No poem, however simple it amy appear, is necessarily easy to recite; but some are obviously more readily understood than others, and my choice of pieces for this present volume has accordingly been in the direction of simplicity. I have included all sorts of selections, serious and humorous, thinking the the Young People who use this book will like to attempt varied recitation. They will find here, may a set of verses they have never read before; and I hope they will be glad to miss quite a number of pieces with which I fear they are only too familiar. The present collection naturally includes poems of national interest and inculcating nationa sentiment, but I also introduce from American and other sources recitations - some narrative, others humorous, and some of a homely character - many of which will I prove welcome to the Young Reader. (Ernest Pertwee). 184 pp. (We carry a wide selection of titles in The Arts, Theology, History, Politics, Social and Physical Sciences. academic and scholarly books and Modern First Editions ,and all types of Academic Literature.).
