Taschenbuch. Condizione: Neu. Neuware - AI is making consequential decisions inside your organisation - right now.Credit approvals, fraud detection, hiring screens, legal drafts, clinical recommendations. AI models are embedded in core operations at most large organisations. The question is no longer whether to use AI - it's whether you're governing what it does on your behalf.Mastering AI Model Risk is the definitive executive guide to understanding, managing, and governing AI model risk in the era of binding regulation. Written for boards, C-suite executives, and senior risk professionals, this practical guide cuts through the technical complexity to give leaders the mental models, frameworks, and action plans they need. What you'll learn: - Why AI model risk is a board-level issue - and the real financial, legal, and reputational costs of getting it wrong- The EU AI Act decoded - mandatory requirements, risk classifications, conformity assessments, and penalties up to 35m or 7% of global turnover- The AI model lifecycle - where risk enters at every stage from data sourcing to decommissioning- LLM and agentic AI risks - hallucination, prompt injection, autonomous action, and how to govern systems that act faster than humans can react- Governance frameworks that work - clear accountability structures, model inventories, risk tiering, and escalation paths that reach the board- Practical mitigation strategies - model validation, explainability, red-teaming, bias audits, and human oversight mechanisms- Building a resilient AI risk culture - from shadow AI to board-level AI literacy- Real-world case studies - discriminatory hiring tools, flash crashes, regulatory enforcement, and reputational failuresIncludes an Executive Glossary of 25+ AI risk terms, a 90-day action plan with role-level owners, regulatory framework references (EU AI Act, NIST AI RMF, ISO/IEC 42001, GDPR, PRA SS1/23), and a curated toolkit of governance platforms and academic references.Who this book is for: CEOs, CFOs, CROs, CDOs, General Counsels, Board Directors, Non-Executive Directors, Chief Compliance Officers, and any senior leader whose organisation deploys or plans to deploy AI systems in consequential contexts. The executive who understands AI model risk has a meaningful advantage. The one who delegates it entirely to the data science team is exposed.…

Paperback. Condizione: New. A Rapid Load Test (RLT), developed to determine the initial stiffness and bearing capacity, is an economical and practical alternative to a Static Load Test (SLT). The broad application of RLT, however, was hampered by uncertainty about the interpretation of the test results. This book offers clear guidance on the available analysis techniques and their reliability. The guidelines were related to an international standard that is drawn up by CEN and can be used in two ways:Straightforward interpretation of test results, chapters 1-3Interpretation with additional background information about the possibilities and limitations, chapters 4-8The guidelines were drawn up by the Dutch CUR-committee on rapid load testing on piles.Chapters 1 and 2 deal with the practical execution of the test and the presentation of the results. Chapter 3 gives a general overview of existing interpretation methods and refers to step-by-step descriptions of the two advised interpretation methods. The aspects that are important for the interpretation are discussed in chapter 4, also showing that the inertia of the pile should be taken into account. In clay soil the rate effect (the dependency of strength and stiffness on loading rate) is also of importance, whereas in sand and silt the generation of pore water pressures during an RLT plays a role. The velocity of the RLT is such that the reaction of sand and silt might be considered as partially drained. These guidelines indicate how these effects can be compensated to obtain the static resistance in the final results. Chapter 5 presents two interpretation methods (a method for piles in sand, gravel, silt and piles on rock and a method for piles in clay). For practical use, the methods are described in a step-by-step scheme in an appendix.…

Paperback. Condizione: new. Paperback. Somewhere in your organisation, AI agents are acting on your behalf. They are making decisions, executing workflows, and producing outputs that carry institutional authority - as if a senior executive had personally authorised each one. Your board is accountable for that. Most boards do not yet know how to govern it. Designing the Hybrid Workforce is the navigation guide that changes that. Written specifically for supervisory and non-executive board members, this book introduces the frameworks, the questions, and the governance architecture needed to oversee a workforce that is no longer entirely human. The Workforce Composition Matrix shows you where your tasks sit and where they are heading. The seven named migration routes show you how tasks move between human and agent control - and what governance each transition requires. The accountability waterfall shows you exactly where responsibility sits when something goes wrong. This is not a technology book. It does not require technical expertise. It requires the willingness to take a genuinely new governance challenge seriously - before the regulator, the incident, or the board review forces the conversation. Peter van Tol has spent twenty years on every side of this problem: as model builder, validator, independent advisor, and regulatory counterpart. This is Volume 3 in the Mastering AI Risk series. Volume 1: Mastering AI Model RiskVolume 2: Mastering Agentic AI Risk This item is printed on demand. Shipping may be from multiple locations in the US or from the UK, depending on stock availability.…
