Conservation work includes the removal of the original staples; pamphlet has been sewn; minor, marginal loss to the front wrapper has been filled out; vertical crease throughout from folding; heavy pencil notation on the front wrapper identifying the subject-J. J. Pettigrew; another pencil note at the head of Capt. Hamilton C. Graham's biographical sketch. Clamshell shows some irregular sunning to the boards and more even sunning to the spine. Graham served under Pettigrew in the 22nd NC Infantry. Promoted to captain in the 7th, he was badly wounded at Gaines' Mill. Contemporary rubber stamp on the front wrappers: "Presented by S. A.
