This anthology has a white and orange dj with black spine lettering and a cover illustration of the editor. Dj is soiled, with edgewear, a few worm homes, and a small closer tear at the lower edge of the front cover, rubbing and soil-now in mylar. Book has browning to page edges, gift inscription on front endpaper, and some light soil/browning within. As the title indicates, this is a collection of works Phelps personally selected as favorites. They span the whole of literary history, including essays as well as fiction; most readers will find familiar pieces in here as well as lesser-known works. 714 pages, plus index; approx. 6"x8".
