Des Weiteren wird die Umkehrung der Bevölkerungspyramide dazu führen, dass auf einen über 80 jährigen nur 4 Menschen im Alter von 20-60 kommen. Dies wird dazu führen, dass die Pflege von alten und pflegebedürftigen Menschen nicht mehr von Familienangehörigen oder sozialen Netzwerken erledigt werden kann. Eine wesentliche Herausforderung wird darin bestehen, diese neu entstehende Nachfrage auf einem qualitativ hochwertigen Level zu halten. Ziel dieser Untersuchung ist, den Begriff Qualität in der Pflege mit all seinen Facetten wissenschaftlich zu untersuchen und einen umfassenden Überblick über die aktuelle Lage auf dem deutschen Pflegemarkt zu geben. Was eine gute Pflegerische Qualität auszeichnet, oder wie diese erfasst werden kann, darüber gibt es selbst in der Fachwelt verschiedene Auffassungen. Die durch den Demographischen Wandel hervorgerufene Alterung der Gesellschaft wird bis zum Jahre 2050 dazu führen, dass die Zahl der Hochaltrigen von heute drei auf über neun Millionen ansteigen wird. Diese neun Millionen Menschen werden künftig ca. 14% der Gesamtbevölkerung in Deutschland ausmachen. Des Weiteren wird die Umkehrung der Bevölkerungspyramide dazu führen, dass auf einen über 80 jährigen nur 4 Menschen im Alter von 20-60 kommen. Dies wird dazu führen, dass die Pflege von alten und pflegebedürftigen Menschen nicht mehr von Familienangehörigen oder sozialen Netzwerken erledigt werden kann. Eine wesentliche Herausforderung wird darin bestehen, diese neu entstehende Nachfrage auf einem qualitativ hochwertigen Level zu halten. Ziel dieser Untersuchung ist, den Begriff Qualität in der Pflege mit all seinen Facetten wissenschaftlich zu untersuchen und einen umfassenden Überblick über die aktuelle Lage auf dem deutschen Pflegemarkt zu geben. Dazu werden verschiedene institutionelle Träger von Pflegeeinrichtungen auf grundlegende Unterschiede in der Pflegequalität analysiert und Optimierungsmöglichkeiten aufgezeigt.
