Manque à la coiffe inférieure du vol. I, début de fente aux deux mors supérieurs. Ces deux volumes forment les tomes L & LI de la grande Collection universelle des mémoires particuliers relatifs à l'histoire de France, procurée par Roucher et Perrin, parue de 1785 à 1807 et qui finit par comprendre 70 volumes. L'édition originale était, elle, parue en 1636. C'est en 1586 que le chancelier Hurault de Cheverny (1528-1599) avait commencé la rédaction de ces Mémoires, et il la poursuivit jusqu'à sa mort. Le manuscrit passa à son troisième fils Philippe Hurault de Pontlevoy, évêque de Chartres, qui mourut en 1620, et la publication fut encore retardée.
