Folder Brochure John Paul Pickens lived form 1937 to 1973 and was a leading figure in the early North Beach San Francisco music scene, roughly 1963, and the helping hand at defining the psychedelic rock scene. He died falling out of a hotel window during a supposed drug deal running from the police. This lovely memoriam pictorial brochure details the Pickens life, work, love and family with appreciations from Peter Coyote, David Meltzer, and with color photographs from the field. "This copy is inscribed to the poet Janine Pommy Vega, a friend of Pickens by his daughter Kay Anne Pickens. The memoriam was compiled with love by Kay Anne Pickens Solem and Cheryl Lynne Pickens Rubbo. There is a wonderful photograph of "Days & Nights" of Pickens in his bookstore in Portland 1959.
