"Indians of Peru" is an album of the descendants of the Inca in many phases of their daily life with a section devoted to the ancient ruins. In selecting these eighty-seven photographs from amongst hundreds, the editors have sought to document pictorially a colourful people and to present Pierre Verger as his most distinguished artist and as technician. A map of Peru follows the photographs which are grouped regionally. Introduction and captions have been written in Spanish by Dr. Luis E Valcarcel, director of the National Museum of History, Lima. The English translation is by Malcolm Burke.
