Hardcover. Condizione: Very Good. Condizione sovraccoperta: Very Good. First Edition. This is really a first rate copy, clean and solid, 1917 on title and copyright page, Just a tiny bit of shelf wear. On title page under authors name there are about 4 symbols written with old ink pen, I cannot make them out, they look like an ancient alphabet but I cannot tell the meaning, anyway they are not distracting in anyway. The jacket is OK but does have three inch size v shaped chips missing from top edge and has some light corner and edge wear. Jacket yellow orange color with black printing and picture of ranch house and cowboy in small circle on front cover. Page edges untrimmed.

This book, a poignant and unflinching collection of poetry, explores the human experience of settling the unforgiving American prairie. The author draws upon personal experience to capture the struggle, resilience, and loneliness of homesteaders in the late 19th century. The poems chronicle the backbreaking labor of farming, the harsh beauty of the landscape, and the psychological toll of isolation and deprivation. Through vivid imagery and evocative language, the author illuminates the indomitable spirit of those who dared to tame the wilderness, while also exposing the harsh realities of their lives. This book offers a haunting and thought-provoking meditation on the American pioneer experience, shedding light on the challenges and triumphs that shaped the nation's history.
