The interior of the menu is in four languages on separate pages (English, French, Spanish and German). The cover of this menu features a whimsical color painting by Pival that depicts an EVZONE carrying a large tray serving lunch. Evzones are a symbol of modern Greece. They are an elite unit of the Greek Army that among other duties, act as the Ceremonial Guards for the President of the Hellenic Republic, as well as guard the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at the foot of the Parliament Building in Athens. As shown in this painting, this evzone's uniform (as well as the dress uniform for real-life evzones) includes a foustanella, the white pleated kilt-like garment, and the tsarouchia, the distinctive red leather shoes with the large black pom-poms at the tip. No date appears on the menu, but probably from the 1980's. In excellent condition and very suitable for framing. Measures approx. 8" x 11.25".
