Aggiungi al carrellodj. The book is virtually as new with its original dust jacket which is also in very good condition. Splendidly bound in bright green cloth stamped in black lettering. Pages are clean and tight. There is no writing in the book. There are 4 glossy full page illustrations spread throughout the book which create a nostalgic look into baseball's history. The dust jacket is very good minus with some paper loss of 2: across the top center of the front panel. A handsome copy of this baseball classic. Christopher Mathewson (August 12, 1880 - October 7, 1925), nicknamed Big Six , The Christian Gentleman , Matty , and The Gentleman's Hurler , was a Major League Baseball right-handed pitcher, who played 17 seasons with the New York Giants. He stood 6 feet 1 inch (1.85 m) tall and weighed 195 pounds (88 kg). He was among the most dominant pitchers in baseball history, and ranks in the all-time top 10 in several key pitching categories, including wins, shutouts, and ERA.[1] In fact, he is the only professional pitcher in history to rank in the top 10 both in career wins and career ERA, if taking 19th-century pitchers' statistics into account.[2] Otherwise, both Mathewson and Walter Johnson would hold that distinction.[3] In 1936, Mathewson was elected into the Baseball Hall of Fame as one of its first five members. Later Grosset & Dunlap printing with copyright of 1916. This printing is from the 1930's. With a frontispiece and 3 other full-page plates by Charles M. Relyea. (illustratore).…
