Fotografia
Two vintage reference photographs from the 1975 short film, one showing an animation used in the film, the other showing director Lotte Reiniger at work on a silhouette form. Annotations in manuscript ink regarding cropping on the verso. Reiniger was a pioneer of scherenschnitte, the German art of silhouette, heavily inspired by the ancient Chinese art of paper cutting and silhouette puppetry. She worked on over 40 films throughout her career, the most notable, "The Adventures of Prince Achmed" (1926), being the oldest surviving feature-length animated film. 9.5 x 7 inches. Near Fine.
