Hard to believe that it was issued in 1977, but no additional printings are mentioned. A list of other Abrams books appears on the rear jacket flap, and none was published later than 1977, further evidence that this is a first edition. There is no price on the jacket flap, which could indicate a book club edition, but there doesn't seem to have been one for this title, so that is mysterious.
