Stephen Posen is well-known as a painter, as well as a photographer, with work in the collections of The Guggenheim Museum, the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art, among others. The work is very distinctive and beautiful, in addition to having a subliminal connection that the reader can immediately understand. This is Posen's first published book of photography and eagerly awaited by his fan base with huge potential for promotion because of the fame of his son, Zac Posen. Stephen Posen will be promoting the book in tandem with Fashion Week during spring 2015 and is exploring exhibition venues now that will soon be confirmed. New York artist Stephen Posen photographs the everyday world with a painter's eye, capturing compositions that often blur the lines between realism and abstraction. The 174 images compiled in his first book of photographs, Ellipsis: Dual Visions, represent a broad range of locations and subjects - ranging from Tonle Sap Lake in Cambodia to a flea market in rural Pennsylvania, a vending machine of rubber balls to a contorted Barbie doll, all culled from decades of photographs in Posen's archives. The artist has arranged these images, taken in very diverse places and disparate times, in pairs, based on form, content, or some obscure magnetism, leaving the viewer to conjure a bridge between the two. The elliptical space between the images, like the series of dots that represents an omitted piece of text, becomes a third entity, pregnant with possibility. As art editor Scott Indrisek writes in the introduction to the book, "2 distinct photographs are made into strange bedfellows, and that's the joy: Finding connections where many see only a random chaos of image." The photographs collected here are playful, poetic, and endlessly compelling. They demonstrate the mastery and intuition of Posen's eye, both as a photographer and an editor, teasing elusive connections from the visual glut of the modern world.

Cover Art: Mike Posen (illustratore). 1988 Edition. © 1987: 1st in the 'Pendragon' series of books. 1st printing of 1988 edition:- Synopsis: 'I will weep no more for the lost, asleep in their water graves. The voices of the departed speak: Tell our story, they say. It is worthy to be told. And so I take my pen and write.' So begins the tragedy of lost Atlantis, extinguished for ever in a hideous paroxysm of earth and sea. Out of the holocaust, three crippled ships emerge to bear King Avallach and his daughter to the cloud-bound isle of Ynys Prydein. Here is another world, where Celtic chieftains struggle for survival in the twilight of Rome's power. One heroic figure towers over all, the Prince Taliesin, in whom is the sum of human greatness - grandeur and grace, meekness and majesty, beauty and truth. This is a tale that spans two worlds, a vision that sings in the heart, and a love that spawns the miracle of Merlin. Arthur. And a destiny that is more than a kingdom:- (original cost £2.99).

Cover Art: Mike Posen (illustratore). 1989 Edition. © 1989: 3rd in the 'Pendragon' series of books. 5th printing of 1989 edition:- Synopsis: "Arthur is no fit king. Merlin's pawn, he is lowborn and a fool. He is wanton and petty and cruel - a sullen, ignorant brute. All these things and more men say of Arthur. Let them. When all the words are spoken and the arguments fall exhausted into silence, this single fact remains: we would follow Arthur to the very gates of Hell and beyond if he asked it. Show me another who can claim such loyalty. 'Cymbrogi', he calls us: companions of the heart. Cymbrogi! We are his strong arm, his shield and spear, his blade and helm. Cymbrogi! We are earth and sky to him. And Arthur is all these things to us and more. Ponder this. Think long on it. Only then, perhaps, will you begin to understand the tale I shall tell you":- (original cost £3.99).
