Anthonie Donker vestigde er de aandacht op in zijn 'Rede gehouden op 2 juni 1956 in de aula van de Nieuwe Oosterbegraafplaats te Amsterdam, voorafgaand aan de herplaatsing van het grafmonument van Potgieter bij de overbrenging van het graf op de voormalige Westerbegraafplaats', welke rede werd opgenomen in de 23ste jaargang van 'Critisch bulletin' [1956/57], pag 241-248 en die in deze uitgave volledig is opgenomen. De tekst werd in 1968 gezet uit de Monotype Baskerville, waarbij de verzen met de hand werden gezet, en gedrukt op España, lompenhoudend tekstpapier van Lutkie en Smit papiergroothandel te Amsterdam, gedrukt door Geuze en Co's Drukkerij te Dordrecht naar een typografisch ontwerp van Aldert Witte en gebonden door Proost en Brandt te Amsterdam. De oplage van 175 genummerde exemplaren is bestemd voor de leden van de stichting 'De Roos' te Utrecht. Dit is nummer 66.
