Taschenbuch. Condizione: Neu. This item is printed on demand - it takes 3-4 days longer - Neuware -Fisheries in Bangladesh play a vital role in the economy, employment generation and nutrition of the people. This sector contributes 3.74% to the GDP, 20.87% to the agricultural income, 58% to the animal protein intake and 4.04% of annual export earnings in Bangladesh. Generally, 10% population of the country including 10 million people is directly or indirectly dependent on fisheries for their livelihood and income. Access right to the fisheries resource by the poor fishers appeared to be ensured under 3 management systems such as: the open access system in the flowing river which is now replaced by licensing system to the genuine fishers, new fisheries management policy providing fishing right to the fishers directly through license by abolishing the middleman and community based fisheries management system by govt organization 128 pp. Englisch.…

Taschenbuch. Condizione: Neu. This item is printed on demand - it takes 3-4 days longer - Neuware -Bangladesh is blessed with the beautiful gifts of nature. Coastal aquaculture is an ancient and well established practice in Bangladesh but also blamed for causing environmental degradation. The research determines the nutreint biogeochemistry and its relationship of shrimp health management for tidal water exchange based coastal aquaculture activity of south-coast of Bangladesh. This study indiacated that Reuse of water from other closely located shrimp ponds resulted in poor nutrient enrichment. One advice is that using re-used water for shrimp farming should be avoided. Further, when shrimps are farmed in a poorly managed environment, both growth and survival rates of shrimp would decrease. Proper management of shrimp production system is related to control of shrimp disease. Present study also pointed out that present practice of culture system has no risk of environmental humiliation in aquatic environment of shrimp farming in South-Easr Coast of Bangladesh 200 pp. Englisch.…

Taschenbuch. Condizione: Neu. nach der Bestellung gedruckt Neuware - Printed after ordering - This book is a preliminary attempt to find the correlation between the East Calcutta wetland (ECW) & non East Calcutta Wetland (NCW) site water parameters which however create any threat to aquatic organisms or not. For this the authors compared the distribution patterns of two enzymes, Lactate dehydrogenase [LDH] and Malate dehydrogenase [MDH] in aerobic tissues from three important major carps Labeo rohita, Catla catla and Cirrhinus mrigala collected from two different sites of West Bengal. Pollutants present in the water bodies and sediments of East Calcutta Wetland (ECW) have not produced significant variations of LDH and MDH isozymes of five important tissues of three major carps except Cirrhinus mrigala. It is found that the water parameters of ECW site poses threat to all major carps studied and the effect is more on Mrigal than on other two carps.…

Taschenbuch. Condizione: Neu. nach der Bestellung gedruckt Neuware - Printed after ordering - Climate change is one kind of erratic behaviors and hazards of environmental consequence such as flood, flash flood, drought, heat & cold waves, cyclone, high and low tide, river bank erosion, salinity intrusion etc. A qualitative study approaches (FGD & KII) was performed from July-December, 2022 to explore the changes of vulnerable peoples' ecological migration perspective in disaster affected southern part of Bangladesh. Results: People usually move to the nearest town and peri-urban areas for seeking the job due to concurrent cyclone, storm surge, flood in the coastal areas. The effect of disasters causes recurrent saline water to increase the relocation of vulnerable peoples to consider livelihood exploration in alternative areas. This is a periodic trend of migration not permanent. Yet, several people normally staying in place temporarily are engaged in shrimp and crab fattening farming, small agri-business, extracting natural resources such as honey and wood collection from mangrove forest Sundarban, catching necessary fishes from the river. The respective fishermen who transform their fishing location seasonally and voluntarily.…

The approach used in this book is that an investigation of seasonal sampling of ecological settings for the central sector of Indian Sundarbans including water quality, mangrove species with its capacity and accumulation of trace metals in water and oysters species. This study marked significant spatial variation in metal level amongst the species, water quality and ecological condition which may be due to variations in environmental conditions. The result pointed out that highly urbanization, industrialization & unplanned tourism, a negative impact has been exerted on the positive health of the aquatic system in and around the Indian Sundarbans that becoming threat for the existence of floral and faunal biodiversity. 224 pp. Englisch.…

Taschenbuch.
