Taschenbuch. Condizione: Neu. This item is printed on demand - it takes 3-4 days longer - Neuware -Angiotensin receptor blockers (ARBs) and angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors are drugs which are widely being prescribed for patients of hypertension, myocardial infarction, congestive cardiac failure, etc. These ailment…s are commonly found in older adults in whom, other conditions like atherosclerosis, etc., which have a potential inflammatory component in their etiopathogenesis, usually coexist. As a result, there has been an increasing interest in research showing effects of these compounds on inflammation. Although there have been several relevant studies in the past, there are conflicting and inconclusive reports on the same. In this book, we therefore attempt to evaluate the effect of ARBs and ACE inhibitors in an experimental model of acute inflammation in rats. The well-established carrageenan-induced paw edema model of acute inflammation has been used for this study. This book covers commonly prescribed ARBs and ACE inhibitors in practice as regards their effects on inflammation, and therefore will especially add to the knowledge of students, researchers as well as clinicians in the therapeutics of ARBs and ACE inhibitors. 136 pp. Englisch.
