VG. Light rubbing/scuffing to boards, a few small nicks around the edges and bumping with a tiny amount of fraying at the head/tail of spine. Joints intact and binding is strong. Scarce copy of this book made even more unique being signed and from the library of 17 year old Frances Newman who went on to become a celebrated southern feminist author, satirist and critic. This would have been an influential volume on the style she eventually developed. She drew the attention of notable novelists and critics like H. L. Mencken, Sherwood Anderson, and James Branch Cabell, but unfortunately her career was cut short by a cerebral hemmorage at 45.…
