This study about the whore of Babylon is such an important one for the time we are living in, and it is our sincere prayer that you will look at this with open eyes and let God guide you and teach you His truth. I cannot strongly enough state the importance of this study. The final judgment is soon to fall upon this world and upon Babylon, so you really need to find out who the whore is to make sure you are not joined with her and also receive of her plagues. This is not a message of hate, but of love. Not worldly love, but true love from God. A love that saves! Jesus Christ is waiting with open arms for you! Do you believe this monster is simply a backslidden or apostate church like many of our Christian leaders tell us, or is she the whore of Revelation? Let's look at scripture and check it out for ourselves. Today the Vatican boasts almost one billion followers. What's that, almost a quarter of the earth's population? And it says, "With whom the kings of the earth have committed fornication." If you look back in history you will see that almost every king has had political, economic or religious ties with the Vatican, starting with Constantine the Great, who was actually the first pope, and presided over the first council. Constantine was never saved. (That was another smokescreen.) Most nations today have diplomatic representatives in the Vatican. "And the inhabitants of the earth have been made drunk with the wine of her fornication." We have just looked at the madness of World War II and how it was set up by the Jesuits. And the Bible goes on to say, "The woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet." These are the official colors of the Vatican. "And decked with gold and precious stones and pearls." Did you know the Vatican is the wealthiest organization on the face of the earth? Later in the book I'll go into this in more detail. The Bible goes on to say, "And on her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT." Where did Catholicism come from? If you do a little research you'll find it came from the ancient Babylonian mysteries, and you can trace it right back to Nimrod and Semiramis. Only the names were changed to make it look like a Christian organization. Who is the mysterious "Harlot" of Revelation 17? This is a puzzle to millions of people-and even to many theologians. Yet the Word of God devotes most of an entire chapter-plus many references elsewhere-to this vital topic. Whoever this great "Harlot" is, she is very powerful. She has, and will in the future, MARTYR untold millions of human beings. She is destined to dramatically CHANGE the lives of every one of you who read this article! This Harlot sits astride a system encompassing many nations and peoples, "Then he said to me, 'The waters which you saw, whEre the Harlot sits, are peoples, multitudes, nations, and tongues'" This cup full of abominations is also a symbol that the sins of this church are so great and full that it is now a fallen, apostate church that can never be the church of Christ Jesus. And the sins of the Roman Catholic Church are immense, with it's idolatry, murder, child abuse and so on, that she has committed throughout her history, and CONTINUES to commit. What is the real church & how do I know what is real and fake in the church. This is a must read study guide book to better understand this GREAT WHORE. Hardcover. 3rd impression. vii, 498 p.; 2 pl. (frontis., facing p. 238); 21.5 cm. (Flake, Mormon bibliography 9061, for 1st edition of 1906) From ch. XII. The Mormons (p. 304-57): `Much has been written about the "Endowment House." A plain two-story building of adobe, it stood,in my day, near the Tabernacle, and not far from the Temple, which was in process of building. It has always been felt that the secrets, oaths, obligations, and sanctionings, centering there, were the very heart of the strength and shame of Mormonism. My correspondent was confirmed by me in 1877, and still lives in Utah. "December 6, 1893. I consider that an oath forced upon a girl of fourteen has no binding quality. These oaths were of the direst nature; they included decapitation and disembowelment as threatened penalties for the divulging of the secrets of the Endowment. Here were taken the oaths of vengeance against the `murderers' of the `martyrs, Joseph and Hyrum'. That day I did not see the `Sealing Room,' but since, I have been in it twice with friends who have been married there. Brigham Young sat on an elevated seat at one end.I have had an account of a plural marriage.Brigham Young turned to Mrs.____ and asked: `Are you willing that this man shall take this woman to be his lawful wife?' The customary answer is `Yes'.but on this occasion the answer came clear and cold, `No!' A long pause followed. Every one,Brigham Young the prophet ofthe Lord included, was in consternation. When Young had collected the shattered remnants of his outraged authority he sternly demanded: `What then are you here for?' The woman answered: `To do the will of my husband.' The ceremony was then completed, whereby the man sacrificed the love of his youth."' (p. 314-20) Fair ex-lib. spotted purple cloth, eps taped at hinges. Sl. penc.

The Red-Man and Uncle Sam. -- `As I am writing this article, the question of permitting Senator Smoot,a Mormon apostle but not a polygamist, to retain his seat is now pending. It is at least significant that no charges are brought against him as to the purity of his family life. The real contention of this investigation now going on, is that Senator Smoot represents not the people of Utah, but the Mormon hierarchy, and that he should be debarred from his seat inthe Senate because he was nominated only after formally asking the consent of that hierarchy. Indeed, it is contended by those opposing him, with every show of proof, that he would have been opposed, defeated, and expelled from his office as an "apostle' if he had not promised implicit conformity withthe church's views and objects politically. In other words,it is claimed that Senator Smoot is not a free agent. When Brigham Roberts was refused admission to the House of Representatives it was because he was a confessed polygamist and not because he was a Mormon. Of course, the government recognizes no religious test, nor does it discriminate against any religious body per se.' (233 f.) Good orig. green cloth, g.t. Spine and upper edge dampstained.

Pamphlet. 34 p.; 22 cm. The fourth of his episcopal charges. `Periods of hostility and persecution demand a double portion of self-government, as well as of zealous exertion. Perhaps there has been no time, since the organization of our branch of the Church in this country, when so general and so violent a hostility has been arrayed against it. Week after week, we may read columns of misrepresentation and abuse, poured out from its various periodicals, against the Church of our affections, and calls upon all the incongruous sects to unite in a general crusade against "Popery, Puseyism, and Prelacy." . I know not whether it is but a revival of that austere spirit of Puritanism which warred against the Church at the time of the Reformation, which received a new hue of prejudice at the period of the American Revolution, and which has been aroused into fresh hostility by discussions recently commenced at an English University, and which are supposed to be peculiarly subversive of its principles. Whatever may be the cause, the fact seems evident, that the Episcopal Church is about to sustain a vigorous assault from the various sects of dissenters; while, at the same time, the partizans of the Romish Church, the common enemies of all Protestants, are watching the onset with a vigilant eye; fomenting the hostility, and using the same jesuitical arts, which that Church formerly tried in England, to "divide and conquer," and thus break down the only portion of Protestantism which they view with alarm.' (p. 4 f.) -- [Following a hostile review in the New Englander for Jan. 1844, he replied with `New-Englandism not the religion of the Bible', 1844] Good, side sewn, in orig. green wrapper. Moderate foxing.
