Condizione: Fair. First American Edition, hardcover. Undated, cerca 1915 according to Baumgarten. Good minus; some wear & rubbing on paper-covered boards; gift inscription dated 1923 on front flypage, which also features a pasted-in greeting card and more wear than other pages; one plate has come loose, see below. One-inch tears at outer edge of title page and bottom of first couple of content pages; a not-quite 1-inch slit affects several pages at top; scattered light foxing (spotting) & other wear on pages but not bad; inner binding is pulling or soft in places yet is holding together quite well considering. Large book measuring over 13-1/2 inches wide; featuring all 18 charming, full-page color plates by illustrator Chloe Preston. The plate for Appeasing Their Appetites is loose and laid back in. The plate following Shades and Spashes is rather soiled and the plate following An Unexpected Upset has the aforementioned slit plus a small foxed spot. Otherwise, most plates are in nice condition with just a little wear and/or soiling. Overall, still a pleasing copy of this scarce title. Please note that expedited domestic mail and international mail will likely run extra on this heavy item.…
