Book #6 in the series of 22 in the "mystery stories for boys" series from the 1920s-1930s, which were filled with "mystery & adventure--the two magic passwords to a boy's interest" to attract young adult (YA) readers. IIn 250 pages, this 12mo is a FIRST… EDITION, later printing, from 1923, bound in gray cloth over boards lettered & ruled in black to front & spine. Condition is only Fair: foxing to all edges, pages heavily tanned & becoming brittle, unmarked save for old gift inscription to ffep & erased small drawing in pencil to rear free endpaper. Binding strong & straight, but both hinges are cracked. The price-clipped DJ is Good+, with light soil & small chips & creases, but the stunning art work by Garrett Price is largely intact, now nicely protected in new clear mylar cover free!
