The book has some small light marks on spine, sharp corners, blindstamp of a map company on title page otherwise no previous owner marks or writing on any pages, solid binding, no foxing. The book measures 258mm tall x 173mm and has 497 pages, 25 b/w photos, many maps & diagrams, 1 folding color map, index. A special collection of 32 papers describing the final objectives for polar exploration. Each chapter is prefaced by short biography of its author. Authors include Nansen, A.P. Coleman, Knud Rasmussen, Stefansson, Mawson, R. Priestly, Byrd, Ellesworth, Nobile (on airships), etc. PHOTOS ARE OF THE ACTUAL BOOK BEING OFFERED.
