A very nice set, with green marbled boards to covers and fawn leather to corners and spine which have five low bands and gilt lettering/decoration. Several of the Church descriptions are written by Gwilt. The set came from the Derby Mechanics Institution and there are very small, very light stamps on the corners of the plates, but they have been applied more than usually sensitive, at least in Volume One. In Volume Two there are, alas, sometimes a couple of the small stamps on each plate. Without these stamps I would describe the condition as near fine.Volume One, pp.xvi + 336 with all 63 plates as called for plus map. Volume Two, pp.xxxii + 336, with all plates as called for.
