Later maroon three-quarter morocco over marbled boards, gilt rules to boards, raised bands, gilt title and gilt ornaments to spine, endpapers renewed with marbled paper, top edge gilt. Light rubbing to boards, moderate rubbing to extremities, later armorial bookplate (Gloucester) to front pastedown. Light toning to interior, a few minor tears to tables, light soiling to half title. A handsome copy. $950. * Third edition, one of three editions, all issued in 1771. This review of the game laws in dialogue form was reprinted in 1775 and incorporated into a later work by John Purlevent, Two Law Tracts (1786).
