Hardcover. Condizione: Very Good. Condizione sovraccoperta: Good. 1st Edition. This is the 1926 First Edition of "The King of Dreams" by G. R. Warmington. Published in hardcover format by George H. Doran, this copy still has an intact dust-jacket. On the front free end-paper is an inked signature, with date, of the original owne…r. Just discernible at the dust-jacket's right bottom corner on the front panel illustration is the jacket illustrator's name, 'Pyle', worked into the picture. On the rear panel of the dust-jacket is a brief account of the story : "On the shores of Lake Mareotis lived Imuthes, Prince of the lost House of Egypt. His first love was for Egypt - for was he not its man of destiny? - but his second, hardly less, was for the Grecian maiden he had snatched from the waters of the lake. Then came rumors from distant Galilee of another rising Prince who, men said, stood alone against Rome, mistress of the Mediterranean. With Him did Imuthes seek alliance. Around the circumstances of this meeting between the Noble of Egypt and the Prince of Heaven is built a story of vivid drama, based upon the facts of Egyptian and Biblical history." TITLE : King of Dreams, a Romance of the Days of The Christ AUTHOR : G. R. Warmington IMPRINT : George H. Doren Co. CONDITION … BOOK : VERY GOOD … DUST-JACKET : GOOD PLUS ONLY … This is a previously owned book that remains clean and presentable, with intact dust-jacket, and original owner's dated signature (Eunice F. Tanner- March 21, 1927) … the following particulars noted :: EXTERIOR : Compression and the beginnings of fraying display on the spine extremities; board edges are mildly rubbed; text-block edges have been cleaned, but still exhibit moderate toning. No markings to block edges. BINDING : Fairly solid … no leaves are detached or loose. There is no splitting over the end-paper hinges. There is a slight lean to the front. The leaves open easily. INTERIOR : The aforementioned signature of the original owner; basically clean and presentable, with no underlining, no marginalia, and no writing (other than the original owner's signature inscription). DUST-JACKET : The dust-jacket has wear to edges, including small tears, nicks and subtle loss - most noticeable at the top edges. However, there is a sizable tear to the bottom extremity of the rear flap; spine panel surface is darkened and exhibits some scuffing; the paper of the flap folds are considerably rubbed, but intact.
