Eines der Essentiellsten ist die Nahrungsaufnahme, ohne die das Leben nicht möglich wäre. In der Zeit als der Mensch sich seine Nahrung noch erjagen oder sammeln musste, hatte er einen genauen Überblick darüber, was und in welchen Mengen des Erjagten und Gesammelten er zu sich nahm. Heute in der modernen Welt kennt der Mensch allerdings vielfach die Lebensmittel, die er sich beschafft, nur mehr von Packungen, Lebensmittelbeschreibungen auf den diversen Packungen, aus der Werbung usw., weiß quasi zumeist nicht, was genau sich hinter, oder besser in den verpackten Lebensmittel - außer dem Angepriesenen - noch befindet. Zumeist ist dem Konsumenten nicht bekannt, dass er keine puren, sondern von der Industrie in vieler Weise bearbeiteten und mit Stoffen versetzten Lebensmittel vor sich hat, die vielfach nur deswegen DEN Geschmack, DIE Haltbarkeit und DIE spezielle Wirkung haben, weil es von ihm bevorzugt und der Industrie, die sich nach den Wünschen richtet, geschaffen wird. Die Industrie versucht mit allen erdenklichen Mittel dem Wunsch der Kunden nach speziellem Geschmack, Farbe, Haltbarkeit usw. nachzukommen und bedient sich dabei chemischer und physikalischer Methoden, um gewünschte Parameter auch erfüllen zu können. Die kleinen , aber wirksamen Helferlein der Lebensmittelindustrie sind diverse Lebensmittelzusatzstoffe, mit deren Hilfe früher angesprochene gewünschte Parameter erreicht werden. Natürlich ist auch mit besagten Zusatzstoffen eine unbeschränkte Haltbarkeit oder ein Über an natürlich wirkendem Erdbeergeschmack nicht möglich, aber der Bereich lässt sich zumindest enorm strecken.

Verschiedene Werkzeuge zum Abtesten der Sozial- und Umweltverträglichkeit von Unternehmen sind parallel in Deutschland und Österreich entwickelt worden. Diese Arbeit beschäftigt sich mit einem dieser Werkzeuge und der Beurteilung dessen durch österreichische Unternehmen der Lebensmittelbranche. , Abstract: Wenn man die Existenz der Erde mit einer Uhr vergleicht, also mit 12 Stunden, dann lebte der Mensch erst wenige Sekunden auf diesem schönen Planeten. In den wenigen Sekunden hätte er es geschafft sowohl die Natur, als auch die eigene Spezies grausam zu misshandeln und zu verstümmeln. Was in den übrigen 11 Stunden, 59 Minuten und 30 Sekunden geschaffen worden wäre, hätte der Mensch in den restlichen Sekunden großteils zerstört. Diese Anschauungsbeispiel hat die Menschen vor einigen Jahren aufhorchen lassen. Vielleicht dadurch, vielleicht auch weil Umweltorganisationen sich vermehrt zu Wort zu melden begannen, kam es zu den zögerlichen Anfängen eines Umdenkens. Plötzlich wurde dem Umweltschutz mehr Aufmerksamkeit gezollt als die vielen Jahre zuvor. Der erste winzige Schritt in Richtung ökologisch denken und wirtschaften schien getan. Nun ist es wichtig, dass immer wieder weitere Schritte folgen und der Mensch nach und nach hingeführt wird zu mehr Verantwortungsgefühl der Umwelt und den Mitmenschen gegenüber. Ich sehe in der Durchführung des sozial-ökologischen Warentests eine große Chance den Menschen das verantwortungsvolle Handelt schmackhaft zu machen. Als Konsument hat der Mensch sehr viel Einfluss und kann Veränderungen bewirken. Die Frage heutzutage scheint also nicht mehr Kaufen oder nicht kaufen , sondern Sozialökologisch bedacht oder kopflos kaufen zu sein. Die folgende Arbeit beschäftigt sich mit der Frage, wie die Industie - in diesem Fall Produzenten von Lebensmitteln - auf den sozial-ökologischen Warentest reagieren. Zu Wort kommen vier österreichische Lebensmittelproduzenten.

Wer allerdings diese, durch die Technik geschaffene, Zeit wirklich beziehen will, der muss sich das auch einiges kosten lassen. Um genau diese Feststellung geht es in dieser Arbeit. Ich will versuchen einen Vergleich zu schaffen, aus dem ersichtlich wird, wie sich die Kosten für die Telekommunikation durch die Einführung und Nutzung des mobilen Telefons verändert haben. Ob Technik rund um das Mobiltelefon den Menschen die Zeit wirklich zurückgibt oder nicht, steht hier aber nicht zur Diskussion, da das wohl jeder für sich entscheiden sollte. Meine Arbeit ist eine durch Zahlen und Fakten begründete Analyse der Kostenveränderung, die durch die Mobilnetznutzung entsteht. Außerdem erwarte ich eine Aussage über eine mögliche Verhaltensänderung bei den Verbrauchern, die vermutlich in Richtung wesentlich gesteigerter Telefonkonsum gehen wird. Vielleicht lässt sich sogar eine Verhaltensmodifikation erkennen, die sich sowohl auf das Telefonierverhalten im Mobilnetz, als auch im Festnetz auswirkt. Alles in allem soll diese Arbeit die konkreten Veränderungen im Bezug auf die Telefonkosten und das Verhalten der Konsumenten aufzeigen, die seit der Einführung des Mobiltelefons erfolgt sind.

On one hand, many children from low-income families are not getting enough to eat each day due to a lack of resources. On the other hand, children from middle and upper income levels consume enough food, but their diets are high in fat, sugar, and sodium, and they do not participate in PA. As a result of this combination, many children today face an increased risk for under-nutrition, obesity, heart disease and other chronic diseases. Finally, educators and health professionals agree that poor diet, eating habits and lack of PA, also affect academic performance.The fact that a hungry child cannot learn has been documented in numerous studies.Indeed, this research has found that even moderate under-nutrition and an immense lack of PA can have lasting effects on children's ability to learn and school performance.Undernourished and untrained children tend to attain lower scores on standardised tests, are more likely to become sick, miss school, and to fall behind in class. Also, hungry children have low energy, are more irritable, and have difficulty concentrating, which interferes with learning.Therefore, school feeding and PA programs were established by several schools and public and private organizations to provide proper nourishment and the possibility of practicing PA. In addition it helps preventing the negative effects of hunger and malnutrition.The School Breakfast Programs was established as a pilot project in 1966 in response to the needs of children arriving at school without having eaten breakfast. Now permanent, breakfast programs help states provide daily breakfast to millions of students in thousands of schools. The positive impact of this program cannot be underestimated. Not only do many teachers report that students are more alert and perform better in class after eating a nutritious breakfast, but published studies also found that breakfast programs are associated with significant improvements in academic functioning among school children.PA programs can substantially improve children s ability to learn and their state of health by making PA a part of their daily lives. Being physically active early in life has many physical, social, and emotional benefits and can lead to a reduced incidence of chronic diseases in adulthood. In addition teachers report improved attentiveness and concentration and parents report improved interest in school and scholastic performance when students participate in PA.The fact is that nutrition and PA influence academic performance. Research has shown that healthy nutrition and daily PA lead to improved scholastic performance, attentiveness, concentration, and interest in school. In addition students who participate in nutrition and PA programs appear calmer in class and more energetic when studying.However, providing a nutritious breakfast and lunch or promoting PA in school is only part of the solution to improving nutrition and PA among young people.
