Softcover. Condizione: Near Fine. First edition thus. Words by Marjorie Rimmer. Music by Alice Stead Binney. Choral Arrangement by Quinto Maganini. Single sheet folded to make four pages. Alice Stead Binney was an author, composer and educator, born in London. At a young age, she emigrated to the United States; in 1887, she married Edwin Binney, owner of the Peekskill Chemical Company, in Peekskill, New York. Edwin, in partnership with his cousin, formed Binney & Smith, which later became Crayola, a company which in 1903 produced the first box of "Crayola" crayons, a name coined by his wife Alice, joining the French word "craie," (meaning chalk or stick of color), and "ola," (from oleaginous or oily). See Kitchell, *The Story of a Rainbow*. Not noted by *OCLC* (but with a copy apparently held at Yale).
