Intéressante plaquette appelant à l'élection d'un « bon député » suivant l'idée de l'auteur, anonyme. L'imprimeur, Victor Mangin, et le contenu de la plaquette nous permettent de comprendre que c'est l'oeuvre d'un libéral acquis aux « idées nouvelles ». Cette plaquette est publiée après l'élection de Jean-Jacques Bosc (1757-1840) en Gironde, en remplacement d'Auguste Ravez (1770-1849) qui vient d'être nommé pair de France. Elle loue cette élection qui remplace un fidèle, modéré, de Charles X par un royaliste modéré qui fit parti de l'Adresse des 221 (18 mars 1803) contre le ministère Polignac. La plaquette critique aussi le prince « arrivant d'outre-mer », ami de Wellington. Il s'agit du duc d'Angoulême qui s'est battu aux côtés de Wellington en Espagne. L'auteur souhaite éloigner du pouvoir les partisans de l'ordre d'autrefois, qui fut bon en son temps avant d'empêcher la France d'avancer. Il ne donne aucun candidat pour qui voter mais indique ceux pour qui ne pas voter. Brochage d'époque, non rogné, dernier feuillet partiellement sali.[332].

Schnörkelschrift in brauner Tinte von geschulter Schreiberhand auf 4-seitigem gefaltetem Imperialfolio-Doppelblatt ca. 41 x 34 cm, mit prächtigen Wasserzeichen, gekennzeichnet als "Copia" (also Abschrift) einer von Freiherr von Schenck unterzeichneten Verordnung (auch die Unterschrift nicht im Original, sondern in Kopie) mit interessantem Inhalt zu den "Vorzüglichsten Entstehungsursachen der Feuersbrünste", nämlich der "Unvorsichtigkeit bey dem Tabackrauchen, vernachläßigte Fegung der Schornsteine, und unvorsichtige Aufbewahrung der Backgeräthschaften auf den Dorfschaften.", den dazu "mehrmal ergangenen Verordnungen" seitens der Fürstlichen Landesregierung, insbesondere Verboten und Strafgebühren für das "Tabackrauchen auf den Straßen, in Scheuern, Ställen und sonstigen gefährlichen Orten", sauber und sehr gut erhalten 2100 gr.

He writes to recomment his 'Friends of mine under the Firm of Barker Petty & Routh No 132 Cheapside', who have 'established extensive Bleaching works in the neighbourhood of London' and are 'well known to all the purchasers of India piece Goods and are strongly recommended to the Committee of Ware houses as fit persons to be intrusted with the management of any piece Goods that may be discoloured or have received injury in the passage'. He would be writing were he not 'well satisfied that they are better qualified to do this business better than any other House in and about London as they are concerned in similar works in Lancashire and in possession of the most improved methods there in use.' He suggests that the firm be given 'an opportunity of shewing', with a view to 'favouring them with the whole or a part of the cleaning and washing of India piece Goods'. Endorsed on reverse of second leaf: 'Robert Peel Esq | Milk Street 7th. Septr. 1799 | The Papers send to Ind[ia]. House with Recommendation - | Answd. 2d. Novr. 1799'.
