Condizione: Good. No edition remarks. 488 pages. No dust jacket. Red cloth covered boards with gilt. Black and white frontispiece. Pages with some foxing and tanning, particularly to endpapers and textblock edges. Binding remains firm. Minor inscriptions to front endpapers. Boards have moderate shelf wear with mild bumping and fraying to corners and crushing and fraying to spine ends. All surfaces tanned and sunned, particularly spine. Gilt lettering to spine is slightly dulled. Book has slight forward lean.

Publishers attractive brown waxed cloth decorated and lettered in gilt and pale blue. Presentation inscription neatly penned to free front endpaper. 256pp. A touch of mild foxing to far extremities.

Condition: Boards grubby and age discoloured. Scuffed top and bottom of spine, wear on corners boards showing slightly. 3rd blank o/p 3 presentations/annotations in period ink writing dated Feb 14 1898. June 5 1899 and 1949. The odd age spot and grubby mark. P128 cracked down seam. Binding remains firm. Obviously once loved, all there and readable. Fair condition.

Good/No Jacket. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. green cloth decorated in turquoise and gilt, nice and fresh though cocked, text block with somel brown-spotting and dust-soiling, stamps of 19thC village library. Both pastedowns spoiled with adhesions of heavy paper which had been added to protect covers.

Pumpkin Illustrative Cloth. Condizione: Fair. No Jacket. First Edition. Moral tale of bravery and cowardice about two brothers at school. Presumed first edition. Undated, but good conduct presentation label to front endpaper from "Post Office Telegraphs" to "J T Rawlins, Messenger No 31" is dated 1898. Cover has floral design in red, green and black painted on to front board and spine. Black and white illustrations to chapter heads and four black and white drawings. Publisher's illustrated catalogue to rear. Corners and spine bumped, some marking to boards, binding coming loose and foxing to page edges and endpapers, otherwise fair copy. Size: 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall. Book.
