On offer here a small softcover booklet titled: History of Touro Synagogue by Rabbi Dr. Theodore Lewis. This booklet (6 x 9 inches, pp. 281-320) was published as Number 159, Vol. 48, Part 3 of the Bulletin on the Newport Historical Society, dated Summer 1975 (this is a reprint issued in 1980). The booklet is nicely illustrated throughout with b&w photos. Condition: This booklet is near fine with no real signs of wear or tear. It is unmarked and unblemished. The stapled binding is tight and sound.

Aside from minor shelf wear and slight staining on the fore edge, this book is in very good condition. It is a collection of sermons at Touro Synagogue - National Historic Site, Newport, Rhode Island. Also included is a brochure guide of the synagogue. The book is inscribed "With best wishes to Shirley & Milton, Sept 12, 1985" and signed by Rabbi Lewis. There is a history of the synagogue which spans over two centuries, but this book is primarily a collection of sermons. These sermons concern not only the history of Judaism, but there are also many on family values which apply to all religions and generations. This is truly an inspirational book for one's collection or a wonderful gift. Signed by Author(s).
