Aggiungi al carrelloSoft cover. Condizione: Very Good. ****This is an original 1948 publication, not a modern reprint. The first publication period of México en el Arte began in 1948 and continued into the early 1950s.**** México en el Arte, No. 4, October 1948. Original vintage Mexican art and cultural periodical published by the Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes and Secretaría de Educación Pública, Mexico City, 1948. This illustrated issue features striking cover artwork by renowned Mexican artist Raúl Anguiano, together with important contributions from David Alfaro Siqueiros, Luis Cardoza y Aragón, Carlos Pellicer, Rafael Solana, Carlos Chávez, and other prominent figures in twentieth-century Mexican art and literature. Of particular interest is David Alfaro Siqueiros' essay, "La Crítica del Arte como Pretexto Literario," accompanied by reproductions of his artwork. Also included is Luis Cardoza y Aragón's "Nuevas Notas sobre Alfaro Siqueiros," examining the celebrated Mexican muralist and his artistic contributions. Illustrated throughout with color and black-and-white reproductions of Mexican modernist artwork, including examples of Siqueiros' painting. An attractive example of postwar Mexican art publishing, offering insight into the country's flourishing artistic, literary, and cultural movements during the late 1940s. Condition: Fair to Good vintage condition. Original illustrated wrappers show noticeable edge wear, corner creasing, small chips and losses, rubbing, and deterioration along the spine. Covers display age-related discoloration and handling wear. Interior pages exhibit natural age toning but appear generally clean and well preserved, with vibrant color reproductions. Some wear and separation visible near the stapled binding. Completeness and attachment of all plates have not been independently verified. Please examine photographs carefully for an accurate representation of condition. An appealing collectible for enthusiasts of Mexican muralism, Latin American modernism, vintage art publications, and twentieth-century Mexican cultural history. Original October 1948 issue, No. 4.
