The Royal Institute of Technology in Sweden was founded in the 1820s with the motto ôScience and Artö which, at the time, were considered the foundation for the progress of mankind. The mottoÆs message still survives strongly today, as the building of the Institute itself was completed with this message in mind. The buildings contain close to 150 works of art by some of the leading Swedish artists at the time, such as Carl Milles and Georg Pauli, for example.
